Laconia has become the first community in the state to adopt a point system in their Architectural Guidelines. Ironwood worked with SMP Architecture Inc. and Hawk Planning Resources LLC. to come up with a comprehensive point system that will help applicants understand Laconia’s architectural focus before coming to the Board. For example, different areas of the municipality will have different point requirements based on the architectural richness of the area. Points can be added for things like parking behind the building or points can be taken away for parking in front of the building.
