Not every project that comes in the door at Ironwood Design Group gets built. It’s the nature of the landscape architecture game: property ownership turns over, leadership changes, funding sources dry up, and motivation wanes.
But often enough the stars do align…and the construction crew arrives on site.
That is what happened this week in Providence, Rhode Island as Site Tech Corp mobilized its operation on the future site of the Woonasquatucket Adventure Park. We couldn’t be happier.
The park’s design team, which included Ironwood, Hali Beckman, Ltd, and AMEC, began its collaboration back in 2015 along with community stakeholders, the City of Providence, The Trust for Public Lands, and the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council. First, the master plan… followed by conceptual design, final design, drawing sets, and three years later, construction!
Next spring when the Woonasquatucket Adventure Park is complete, we will all take a celebratory cruise on the bike trails and try out the pump track.
