Founder’s Park
Founder’s Park is located adjacent to the Public Library at the transition of the Exeter and Squamscott Rivers in Exeter, New Hampshire. The park’s situation on the long slope of Jady Hill affords an excellent view, but up-hill paved surfaces create an area of concentrated stormwater flow at the intersection of the Park and Chestnut Street. Ironwood Design Group worked with Exeter officials to design a rain garden at the site, oversaw site work performed by Exeter DPW staff, and managed an army of Seacoast School of Technology students who installed plant material donated from Churchill’s Garden Center. Ironwood was honored to facilitate this truly collaborative community project to a positive end.
