Marshall Farm
Under a Green Infrastructure for New Hampshire Coastal Watershed Communities grant, Ironwood Design Group worked with the Marshalls Farms Homeowner Association to increase public awareness of contaminants in stormwater run-off negatively impacting the adjacent Brickyard Pond on Route 108 in Exeter, New Hampshire. In addition to conducting public outreach and education around lawn fertilizers and pet waste, Ironwood assisted individual homeowners in creating rain gardens on their properties, and designed and constructed rain gardens in the areas with the greatest concentration of stormwater flow. Rye Beach landscaping and Churchill’s Garden Center contributed labor and plant material, respectively, to this neighborhood-scale watershed protection project that has already visibly improved water quality in Brickyard Pond.
