Serving on a multidisciplinary consultant team, Ironwood provided comprehensive landscape architectural services for a multiuse trail along the Androscoggin River and Main Street in Berlin, NH. Ironwood contributions included existing conditions analysis, public outreach, programming, riverwalk and park design, cost estimation, and illustrative graphics.

The now completed project area spans between picturesque Heritage Park and the Twelfth Street Bridge, parallel to a stretch of historic boom river piers once used to direct harvested logs downstream.

The Northern Borders Regional Council and the NH Department of Transportation’s Transportation Alternatives Program jointly funded the riverwalk project, which received a 2023 Plan NH merit award.
