Marston Farm | Nottingham, NH

Ironwood Design Group was hired by the Town of Nottingham to serve as prime consultant in the creation of a conceptual park design and the prioritization of short and long-term plans for the public use of the 45-acre Marston Farm property. The Town had recently completed brownfield mitigation on the property to remove contaminated soils generated during a prior agricultural use of the parcel.

Ironwood facilitated an inclusive design process in close collaboration with the Town’s working group and engineering sub consultants to program appropriate park uses according to stakeholder input, a NH Listens Workshop, and master planning outreach. Other variables considered for park design were prime wetlands, sensitive species, and flood plan considerations.

The final conceptual design considered phased construction of a multiuse field, four ball fields, a track, walking trails with a scenic overlook, playground, community gardens, a picnic area with pavilion, and parking.
